Here are some of the many opportunities for health professionals to serve in Christian missions (Doctors, dentists, nurses, paramedics, EMT's, lab techs, many more).  These agencies organize short-term trips worldwide. Some offer long term and career positions. The few agencies that are not necessarily Christian are so noted. 

Some agencies welcome those without medical credentials (such as administrators, vehicle drivers, technicians, interpreters, and other support personnel).

Urgent Needs Medair Medair is looking for professionals for relief programs in Africa and Asia, in the health, WatSan and shelter sectors, offering a first year monthly allowance of $100 plus expenses and $1000-$3500 for experienced/2nd year relief workers. Minimum 1 year commitment, ages 25 - 55. CURE International (Kabul, Afghanistan) OB/GYN Medical Director needed for 115 bed hospital. Salary and benefits. Minimum 3 years OB GYN experience, current licensure. Knowledge and skill in program management, budget planning, and in the use of computers. Agape Medical Center
Provides medical assistance to people in rural Russia that have little or no access to medical care, as well as programs in and around Moscow with homeless children, soup kitchens, and truck drivers. Also medical help for orphanages, schools, hospitals, clinics, private homes, prisons, government agencies, armed forces, truck stops, soup kitchens, homeless children, plus to the Nenets who have lived on the Tundra in teepees for over 9,000 years.

Amazon-Africa Aid
Dentists and Surgeons volunteer their services in clinics for people in abject poverty in the Brazilian Amazon for two to four weeks. We work in partnership with Fundaçã Esperança, a non-profit organization that has been providing health and education to the people of the Amazon for over 30 years. Spouses welcome. Not necessarily Christian.

Amazon Basin Benevolent Association
(ABBA) Medical and dental missions in native villages in the Amazon Basin / Peru. Dentistry is always needed, surgery and treatment for eyes and glasses, cataracts, more. See web site.

Amazon Medical Outreach & Relief A.M.O.R.
AMOR provides physical and spiritual hope from village to village along the banks of the Amazon river in Peru, using a 56-foot launch, and a small airplane. Medical and dental skills needed.

Amazon Mission Trip
One-week Mission Trips (Saturday to Saturday) to the Brazilian Amazon to offer medical, dental, social and spiritual assistance to people who would otherwise be forgotten. The Presbyterian Church of Manaus has a number of Medical boats and programs year round. Have fun and help people!

Ambassador International Ministries

American Leprosy Missions

In addition to MDT to cure leprosy, ALM provides physical rehabilitation, vocational training, socio-economic support, etc., and health worker training. Baca Ortiz Childrens Hospital (Quito, Ecuador)
A specialist pediatric hospital in Quito for up to 300 children, ranging in age from new born to 15 years. The focus is on burns, emergencies, intensive care, oncology, surgery and a general clinic. Volunteers with skills in medicine, pediatrics, physiotherapy or occupational therapy needed. Local language skill very helpful.

Bach Christian Hospital, Pakistan (Contact through TEAM)
This mission hospital high in the Himalayas in the northwest frontier of Pakistan has a variety of needs, including dental personnel. Currently, a female OB/GYN is needed. Several short-term volunteers a year, two weeks at a time, would be great. Contact John Condie.

Belize Mission, Conference, and Retreat Center
A unique short-term medical and dental missions opportunity in Belize, an English speaking country in Central America. Teams stay at our facility on the Caribbean and serve at Gales Point, where we are establishing a medical and dental clinic.

Central American Relief Efforts (Honduras)

Central Texas Mission
Short medical and dental mission trips to Nicaragua, Central America. Kids as young as 15 can go along with a parent. We use physicians, dentists, nurses, PA's, paramedics, veterinarians, optometrists - and regular folks.

Change a Life Foundation (Zimbabwe)
ZMEH has openings for Christian health care staff, to serve in Zimbabwe. Situated on the Gwayi River near rural clinics and on a game reserve park. Housing and vehicle provided. More than 120,000 children under the age of 15 are living with HIV in Zimbabwe, and hundreds more contract the virus each week because of a lack of antiretroviral medicines to prevent mother-to-child transmission.

Chaurjahari Hospital  (Remote area of Nepal)
The hospital maintains a very good standard of care, even though facilities are basic with little infrastructure.

Chhatarpur Christian Hospital (Madhya Pradesh, India)
A 100 bed facility offering services including General Medicine, General Surgery, Dermatology and Leprosy treatment, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Dental, Community Health, and a nursing school. Part of Emmanuel Hospital Association.

The Chiapas Project
One week medical and dental trips serve the Zoque people of Chiapas, Mexico. Medical and dental students, high school and older kids and other non-medical people welcomed too.

Chicuque Rural Hospital (Mozambique, eastern Africa)
The 200-bed health care facility serving roughly 500,000, strives to deliver quality health care services in the face of severely limited resources. AIDS outreach programs, tuberculosis vaccinations, emergency surgery and physical therapy, etc., help to meet the dire needs of the very poor. A project of The United Methodist Church.

Children of the Nations
A medical clinic enables teams of physicians, surgeons, dentists, nurses and other health care workers to provide on-going Christ-centered care to the very poor around Barahona, Dominican Republic. There are two operating rooms, a procedure room, and a separate dental clinic. Common surgical needs include hernia repair, tonsillectomies, plastic surgery, scar revision, gynecology and limited orthopedic procedures.

Children's Medical Ministries

Children's Medical Missions West
We help bring children to the USA for medical services that they are unable to obtain in their home countries. Medical professionals who are willing to donate services stateside are needed, as are hosting families who will travel with and escort the children.

China Harvest Ministries
Inviting doctors, dentist, nurses and lay people to come to China and be part of a medical team that will hold medical clinics in the poor areas of N. E.China. We are also looking for doctors and nurses to come to China and hold teaching seminars on your special field in the nearby hospitals.

Christian Emergency Relief Teams International
Short-term trips for medical (physicians, pediatricians, dentists, nurses, etc.), health care students, and non-medical people. Assist in clinics in remote areas including South America, Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia (including Romania, China). Spanish helpful in Peru, especially in Amazon jungle areas.

Christian Eye Ministry
Two to four week trips for eye surgeons, Ophthalmic specialists, etc. Emphasis on Ghana, West Africa. Affiliated with International Aid.

Christian Light Foundation CLF (Philippines)
Minor surgery for the poor by medical evangelism teams. A not-for-profit, non-denominational mission founded in 1973, whose purpose is to carry out the Great Commission around the world.

Christian Maritime Missions
An international, non-denominational ship ministry reaching out to isolated island and coastal communities with medical, practical, evangelical, disaster relief, and Christian development training outreaches. Christians with health care skills of all kinds are welcomed.

Christian Medical and Dental Associations
The Global Health Outreach is a short term program that exists to provide opportunities for medical, dental and other healthcare professionals, students, their families and associates to serve Christ, to share Christ and to grow in Christ, at locations around the world and year round. Christian Medical College and Hospital   (Ludhiana, Punjab, North India)
This 740 bed hospital admits around 15,000 patients each year and treats another 250,000 through its outpatient department clinics. Most specialties including microsurgery, burns treatment, nephrology, urology, neurosurgery, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, paediatrics, radiotherapy, radiology, biochemistry, pathology, haematology, trauma care, reimplantation of severed limbs.

Christian Medical College and Hospital Vellore (India)
CMC Vellore occupies a prominent place among medical institutions in India (and in the world) as a 2,000-bed multi-campus complex that is a vital, diverse, inter-denominational community. Christian Medical Fellowship  (UK)

Christian Medical Mission
Provides affordable or free medical, dental, and optometry pediatric and adult care to people of Moca and surrounding areas of the Dominican Republic. We do so via the caring ministry of volunteer Christ-centered health professionals serving for short terms. We need volunteer accountants, truck drivers, physicians, teachers, students, or anyone else who is seeking to show the love of God to others through medical care.

Christian Medical Missions, Inc. (CMMI)
Established in 1990, CMMI sends medical teams five times a year for one week to remote Indian villages in Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Mexico. We use medical, dental, optometric, and lay volunteers. Spanish is understood by the younger generations in these areas.

Christians Abroad
Recruits volunteers from Britain and Ireland for overseas Christian projects, mostly in Africa. The tasks may be professional or experience-based, and are generally in schools or colleges, hospitals, or in work with children.

ChristianVision Eye Services to Haiti
Students and doctors can enjoy short trips and utilize the fully equipped eye clinic not far from Port-au-Prince. You can help patients who often travel great distances to obtain eye care they otherwise would not be able to find or afford.

Church Growth Ministries of Samoa
